This photo is of Mr. Frank Bickle. He was a Rotarian and president in 1961. He was active in business and community affairs and was mayor from 1948 to 1951. He served on the town council 1918-1919 and in 1928-1930. He was also past president of the Pas Chamber of Commerce. Born in Whitechurch, Ont., he came to The Pas in 1913 with his father and opened an office to conduct an insurance business and Real Estate Dealer. In 1919, he opened Bickle Motors at The Pas; it was the first Ford dealership. He was devoted to curling and was a life member of The Pas Curling Association. He was president of the Manitoba Northern League of Soccer in 1962. He passed away in 1963 at the age of 76. He was also keenly interested in early history of the North, particularly in developing roads into the new mining areas and for Tourist Travel. He was presented with a Red River cart in recognition of his work in promoting “North of 53”.
