Elks Fez

Purple fez with “Elks/No 135/Past/D.D.G.E.R./The Pas” spelled out. In the centre is a metal elk relief. It has a gold tassel.

This is an Elks fez worn by Vern Bernstrom as part of his Elks regalia following his service as District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler in 1950-51. As a fraternal organisation, regalia is important to the Elks, but it is not mandatory for any member. This has always been the policy for the Elks.  Fezzes are still part of the Elks regalia today.
