Lioness Club Pin
Lioness Pin
Sam Waller Museum
PH2015.5.27
This pin belonged to a Lioness from The Pas. The pin celebrates the Northern Manitoba Trappers’ Festival, celebrated the third weekend each February. The Trapper sign stands proudly in The Pas all year round in homage to both the Festival and the many men and women who worked and still do work within the trapping industry, a very important industry in northern Manitoba. Thus, this pin is connecting the service group to The Pas.
This pin, in the shape of the Trappers sign, has a single butterfly clutch on the verso of the item. The verso is a textured gold coloured surface. The recto shows the man from the Trappers sign, in gold, holding the Lions emblem in his hand. There is a white sign in front of him with gold coloured lettering reading “The Pas”. He and the sign are standing on an irregular shaped piece with a dark blue field. On the field is “Lioness Club” in gold lettering.
