This photo is W. H. Bunting. He was a Mason and an ardent supporter and worker for the Liberal party but never sought political office for himself. He was born in Pickering, Ont. in 1878. He came to Manitoba in his late teens and was employed for several years as a clerk for the Hudson’s Bay Company. He opened a general store in Swan River, then came to The Pas and built a store and became a member of the first town council and also served on the School Board. He operated his store until 1932 and afterwards became manager of the Liquor Store and retired in 1944. He passed away at the age of 84, 1962, and was buried in The Pas, Manitoba.
