Photograph of Fred Woodward, a life member of The Pas Masonic Lodge. He was born in Buxton, England in 1882. He came to Toronto in 1907 and later lived in Port Arthur, Ontario. After serving overseas with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in W.W.I., he came to The Pas in 1919 as manager of The Rupert House. During World War II he acted as a sentry at the Hudson Bay Railway bridge at The Pas. He resided in The Pas almost continuously for the remainder of his life. He was probably best remembered as a prospector, as he was actively engaged in that work for 30 years.
