What’s Next for Mississippi Mills Healthcare?

As it has throughout its history, Mississippi Mills continues to embrace progress in its provision of healthcare services.

Not only did a fundraising campaign that began in 2017 lead to new x-ray and ultrasound tools for the hospital, but it set in motion plans to bring a new CT scanner to the Almonte General Hospital.

This most recent fundraising appeal has been successful due to the strong community spirit of residents.

Today, a CT scan is considered a standard of care, yet until recently, this essential healthcare tool was not available locally. For a hospital serving the small towns and villages of Mississippi Mills, having a CT scanner means that residents will be able to receive care right in their home community.

Many years ago, hospital leadership identified CT scan as the most important piece of diagnostic equipment needed to continue to provide the best quality care here at AGH. This community, through its generous support of our Foundation, made it happen. The health of hundreds of our residents will be impacted by this new CT starting next spring and for many years to come – and that’s something we can all be proud of.
