Baseball was one of the most popular sports in the Beiseker district. The first game recorded was in 1912. The sport does not require much equipment beyond a bat and a ball however, boys would push screws through their shoes to make cleats for the games. In the schoolyard, baseball was something that all ages, including the teacher, could play together. Although recess did not afford enough time, a ball game usually took place at lunch hour.
