Assembled in secret in an underground lab that he called his “cave,” William Morrison’s electric car was a huge advertising success for his business. It attracted media attention from all over North America. Morrison famously offered $5,000 to anyone who could find evidence of an earlier passenger automobile than his, and the prize was never claimed.
