Ted Reeve – Indigenous Connections
Perhaps you could tell us about some positive things that you have encountered through your work at St. Paul?
One of the things I’m most excited about is to work with the Indigenous community.
We have what we call our Reconciliation Gallery here at the Centre and we’ve been in conversation with elders and Indigenous people about how we share this land. Appreciation of each other’s spirituality, sense of how we overcome the misdirection and misunderstanding of colonialism, religious understanding, and finding new ways forward.
So, working with a group of elders to initiate a festival in June this year, in which we attempt to move our reconciliation efforts in a way that those of us who are settlers and First Peoples can come together and appreciate each other’s sense of place being here.
