Glenn Higgins – Change in Orillia
If you could change one thing about Orillia, what would that be?
It would be nice if there was more employment for people in town. I’m fortunate I have three daughters, two of my daughters have chosen to live in Orillia as well, and they’re both fortunate to be able to have jobs in Orillia. So if I could change it, that would be great if there was more employment because there is a lot of people that live in town that have to commute or go somewhere else.
Is there one thing that you would never change about Orillia?
I think Orillia’s got a great small town feel to it. Although it’s a city, it’s a municipality, it has lots to offer as well. It’s a great location, it’s located on the gateway to Muskoka. It’s also close enough to Toronto, Barrie, other centres, so if you need specialized hospital care, or shopping, or something that you can’t get here, it’s close enough. You’re only an hour out from the big center.
I think Orillia has got that nice hometown feel to it and it’s just a nice atmosphere to live in and raise a family.
