Kevin Gangloff – Change in Orillia
If there was one thing you could change about Orillia, what would it be?
There’s not a lot I want to change because when you start to look at what a community can offer, Orillia has everything that I do want, and I’m close enough to Toronto where you can go if you want to see something, or do something, but I have four season opportunities in Orillia. I can walk to work, beautiful downtown, a growing community, but an engaged community.
The amount of opportunities to do stuff in Orillia is staggering to me. You have to work to not find something to do in Orillia, you really do. The amount of arts and culture to museums, the Opera House, festivals, hiking trails, lakefront, water and it’s a beautiful community. It’s a giving community.
There isn’t a lot I want to change because again that’s why I stayed and really I love the community. I love the growth that you’re seeing, you’re seeing people coming in and investing, you’re seeing people coming wanting to contribute and you’re seeing people that want to be here and do stuff and that’s a community.
I mean the amount of stuff that you see people willing to do and offer – and I see it selfishly from the work side of it – that then grows out into the community, it’s amazing, it really is.
