Nathalie Rivard – Change in Orillia
If there were one thing you could change about Orillia, what would that be?
I think it’s not necessarily change, but to continue to be aware of its growth. The city is growing, I find very fast, and traffic levels are always difficult at certain times, it’s a seasonal city as well.
We seem to have an influx of temporary residents that come to the city and it can be challenging at times. I think that it’s a wonderful – I don’t think it’s a problem – I think it’s a wonderful challenge to have, but to keep that in mind in terms of allowing for more traffic flow to be available but, I think it’s great.
If there were one thing you would never change about Orillia, what would that be?
Oh I think the historical aspect of the City of Orillia. The waterfront. You have some beautiful historical buildings and I know there’s a lot of work being done to keep them alive and that needs to continue because it really builds that character in the City of Orillia, and it’s downtown core.
Anything in general about Orillia you’d like to add?
When you look at Orillia, I think a lot of people think about more of a retirement location and I actually see the opposite, I see that it’s a beautiful community for young families to start up. It has everything you need really close by, you don’t have to travel to the big cities, it now has everything and there’s more and more merchants coming into the city and offering their products. I think it’s a great location to raise a family.
