Orillia Collegiate Institute (1899)
Part of OMAH’s Charles Harold Hale Collection.
Originally founded in 1877 as Orillia High School, Orillia’s first high school grew to become known as the Orillia Collegiate Institute, and finally the Orillia District Collegiate & Vocational Institute (ODCVI) before it’s demolish in 2013.
This photo of the high school was taken in 1899 at the corner of Borland and West, a year after the building had been burned in a fire.
