Tyler Knight – Community Dark Room
You have just a few cameras around here, and you mentioned that you were going to start a community dark room?
Yeah, so Otter Art Club, run by Travis Shilling and Naomi Woodman, they do a community art program and they approached me with the idea of doing a community dark room. They sourced a dark room sink, some enlargers, some chemicals and we thought what better use to use my studio for that given my love of film photography and the space being called The Darkroom.
We’re going to be opening that hopefully in the next month or two, we’ve got some funding from the CDC to put towards that and it’s going to be a community dark room where people can bring their own film to develop themselves and learn how to do it, or they can drop it off to be processed. There’s going to be a partnership with Downtown Camera in Toronto to do some colour development for us as well.
