No more tuna fish sandwiches!
We got the call out to Branchflower Road on Wednesday, July 29th and worked twenty-four hours straight. Our last house in the District is on Branchflower Road. We were able to save one house on Branchflower Road, but lost a barn. The hay shed we lost was like an inferno. There wasn’t a close water source.
It was a crazy time, but it was also a great time. It didn’t matter if a firefighter needed something, he got it. There was no bureaucracy. We were sleeping in the fire trucks.
To this day I still can’t eat a tuna fish sandwich.
