A photojournalist’s ride in a helicopter was shared with newspapers across the country. Branchflower Road, the boundary between Salmon Arm and Silver Creek, made the National news.
The fire was almost selective at times, destroying some buildings but sparing others. This feature aerial view of Krick and Branchflower Roads shows how hit and miss the fire was. The subdivision became a place for sightseers to gather. Residents asked that their privacy be respected and for lookiloos refrain from imposing.
