Model Railroad cars burn

Ken Ovington’s first reaction to the ruins was one of heartbreak.
“I don’t have enough time to rebuild,” Ken said with his hands on his hips.
“So much was destroyed that it is hard to know where to begin,” said Gary Hazell as he helped with the clean up. “You really have to see it to get an idea of the devastation done to Ovington’s work.”

Ken Ovington was an R.J. Haney Heritage Village connection to the fire. He was a board member and a member of the Shuswap Model Train Club. He was building a model train to have on tracks at Haney Heritage Village. Ken’s shop and model rails were burned in the fire, so the project was abandoned.
