Sweat equity begins with land clearing

The men were so anxious to begin the building phase, they cleared the land themselves. Later, they would mix their own concrete, haul and lay bricks for basements and boards for subfloors and much more. This was “sweat equity” in action. Although exhausting, their labour and co-operation contributed to the down payment that made a new home possible.
