Doloris Branchaud recalls the ‘awful red clay.’

Doloris Branchaud remembered, with some humour, the red mud forever turning white undergarments pink.

[JANET – off Camera] I’ve heard there was a lot of mud at that time.

[DOLORIS] Oh gosh, the red clay. Oh my god, it was awful that red clay.

[JANET – Off camera] Was it hard to keep up with it? Like just keeping things clean?

[DOLORIS] My kids’ underpants. None of them had white underpants. They were all red or burgundy or whatever colour.

[JANET – Off Camera] Mrs. Colleary said the same thing.

[DOLORIS] You couldn’t get it out. You could change the colour make it a little lighter, but you could never get it out once it was in there.
