Father Marrocco would be a key figure in the ISA in 1949, inspiring and challenging his students. He had travelled to Antigonish, to study co-operative methods being taught at St. Francis Xavier University. He was well prepared this role at St. Patrick’s College, following his work assisting Immigrants, Orphans and Displaced Persons as Director of Immigration of the International Refugee Organization. He was the son of immigrants and had known poverty. Seeing the plight of these new immigrants, he also worked with the government to develop Citizenship training materials with the government 1948-1950.
