The management of materials and men fell to the hired supervisors, Rod and Ward Sexsmith and Roy and Denton Wilson, as well as to the co-op team leaders. To save money, the co-op builders decided to bring in materials in bulk by train. They unloaded the trains themselves as fast as possible – another example of “sweat equity.”
