Teamwork was key

Working 30 hours on the co-op site per week, over and above their regular jobs, the builders focused first on grunt work. Eventually, they took on some of the skilled jobs, gaining expertise along the way. Monsignor O’Brien recalled in a 2016 conversation with Bernadette Walsh, “We could see the way they were working together and helping one another … it wasn’t just that we were building houses, we were building men.”
