In the 1950s, Rosario Houde bought the former Faida Grondines general store, which he expanded twice until it closed in 1986. Open every day, it was not uncommon for people to drop in just for a chat. At Rosario Houde’s, you’d find all the basic necessities: molasses, corn syrup, flour, sugar, chandeliers, hardware, clothing…

The Rosario Houde General Store was located at 255 Sir-Lomer-Gouin Road.
