Geological Report 31 from the Ministry of Mines recorded the presence of a peat bog in Grondines’ 4th Line in 1947.
Exploitation of the bog probably began in 1941 when Arthur Faucher acquired it, and it subsequently passed through several owners. In 1979, it became Tourbière Rive Nord Limitée, but was renamed Tourbière Michel Légaré et Fils when it closed in 1985.
