Grondines wharf, 1990

The first wharf, probably built in the second half of the 19th century, was acquired by the federal government in 1904. Some twenty years later, it was abandoned, while a new, longer one was built to the west of the mill. Construction was completed in 1925, but by 1929 it had already been extended by 100 feet into deeper water.
Until 1994, the Grondines wharf extended nearly 800 feet into the river. Following rehabilitation work, 300 feet were removed and a launching ramp for pleasure craft was built.
The remains of the old wharf have never been removed from the shore, so it can still be seen behind 311 Chemin des Ancêtres at low tide.
