Les Grondines & quelques isles qui sont proches, bon lieu de chasse & de pesche.
The name Grondines appears as early as 1632 on the map drawn by Samuel de Champlain three years before his death. In the Table pour cognoistre les lieux remarquables en ceste carte, Champlain first identifies the Grondines, lands that would be granted to the Duchesse d’Aiguillon for the nuns of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec a few years later.
