The “upper parish” school was located in front of 960 Chemin du Roy, in the western part of the village. As the schoolhouses closed in the late 1960s, the brick building was demolished around 1970.
Once a year, the inspector from the Ministry of Public Instruction makes his rounds to check on the quality of teaching at the school. As soon as the teacher saw him appear at the window, the pupils rushed to tidy up their desks and welcome the inspector in chorus: “Bonjour, M. l’Inspecteur!” still echoes in the memories of the village’s older generation.
