“Is It Here Yet?” Anticipating Train Time in Kirkfield

Maryboro Lodge: The Fenelon Museum Collection (accession no. 021.16.13)
Date: ca. 1950s
The Kirkfield station was typical of those constructed by the Toronto & Nipissing Railway. It replaced an earlier building in 1892 and outlived the railway, serving as a residence until being destroyed by fire in 2001. A similar station served passengers in nearby Coboconk.
