Charles Shawcross Frame

Within a frame made from a brass plate propped up by bullet casings, there is a sepia image of a woman's face. The look on her face is solemn and her long hair is wrpped up in an elaborate bun.

This frame was made by Charles Shawcross and depicts his sister, Gladys. He was a 22-year-old machinist living in Regina, Saskatchewan when he enlisted in September 1914. Corporal Shawcross served with the 11th Canadian Siege Battery and returned to Canada in 1919.
