Collection of Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) Museum, Calgary, Alberta, B3-0483 QT42
copper, 2.3 x 75.5 cm, 1961–1962
Military members often commission or bring home objects that commemorate their experiences oversees. This tray was commissioned by the sergeants serving with the 56 Canadian Recce Squadron, formed largely from the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians). This squadron performed peacekeeping duties in the Sinai Peninsula, which is depicted on the map in the centre of this tray.
