Eric G. Hjalmarson Cross
Collection of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light, Infantry Regimental Museum and Archives Calgary, Alberta, 17.03014
brass, 2009
These crosses were made by Eric G. Hjalmarson who served with the Canadian Army in Afghanistan. They are made from .50 calibre rounds that were fired in a battle at a combat outpost called A 10. He used a hammer, tin snips and a hacksaw to make them. He created them because a padre wanted a small cross he could carry with him for services in the field.
