This picture frame was made in Victoria, British Columbia by a disabled Canadian First World War veteran at one of the many Vetcraft Workshops operated by the Canadian Red Cross throughout Canada. The sale of wicker furniture, plant stands, trays and picture frames as well as numerous other items helped to support these workshops. The photograph is of King George VI, Queen Elizabeth II’s father. He reigned from December 1936 until his death in February 1952.
