The Québec Liberal Party’s Leadership Convention was held on March 16-17, 2013. The Verdun Auditorium opened its doors to 2,377 Liberal delegates from all over Québec who came to find a new leader. Three candidates were in the running in that race. Philippe Couillard, Minister of Health and Social Services from 2003 to 2008, won the vote with 58.5% support. He replaced Jean Charest, Party Leader from 1998 to 2012. In April 2014, the Québec Liberal Party won the provincial elections and Philippe Couillard became the Premier of Québec as a result.
