On January 9, 2006, during a Montréal Canadiens’ training session at the Verdun Auditorium, an incredible story unfolded. Taking advantage of an unsupervised moment and a team training session break, a man suddenly appeared on the arena’s rink, drop a puck in front of him and tried to elude goaltenders José Théodore and Christobal Huet, but they managed to block his efforts. Quickly, coach Claude Julien intervened and the security guards escorted the man off the rink. The event brought a smile to the faces of some of the players on the team, including Alex Kovalev. On seeing the man wearing a white sweater like his, he turned to the reporters and said: “I want him to be on my line!” Fortunately, there were no other incidents and the players were able to resume their training session.
