A transformed façade

During the 1970s, a number of front façades of commercial establishments along rue Wellington in Verdun were covered with metal cladding. The Auditorium was no exception to this architectural trend. The construction of the annex, in 1977, prompted the City of Verdun to carry out work on the Auditorium as well. It was decided to cover the original bricked front façade of the building with a painted steel surface. The Auditorium renovations of 2018 call for removal of this cladding and restoration of the original brick front.
