In 1994, the Verdun Auditorium welcomed the Canadian Synchronized Skating Championships. In this figure skating discipline, 16-20 skaters work as a team, moving together during most of their program. During these championships, teams from all over the country, such as Les Black Ice, Les Suprêmes, The Optimistics, Les Pirouettes and several others, came to perform at the Verdun Auditorium. Les Pirouettes were crowned the winners in the senior category in these Canadian Championships. This team then went on to represent Canada at the World Championships.
