Florence Lamanda Merry (1843-1928)

Judging by the number of books found in the Merry house belonging to Florence L. Merry, it is highly likely that she was a very cultivated individual. In addition to her teaching career, Florence had the opportunity to travel to the United States and to Panama. When her father Ralph Merry V died in 1887, it was Florence who inherited the Merry House. She was also the person who, in 1909, negotiated the sale of Point Merry to the Town of Magog, something that, moreover, she did in a rather firm way, according to researchers Maurice Langlois and Serge Gaudreau [1].
