The fashion of the checkered tablecloths!

La Butte à Mathieu was partly built with lumber from old barns recovered by Gilles Mathieu. In this picture, we can see the room with tables covered with traditional checkered tablecloths; in the background is the stage and on each side, the mezzanines on which spectators sat on cushions.
