The Saint-Joseph farm livestock stood out at the 1939 Chicoutimi regional agricultural exhibition, where they won 1st and 2nd prizes. The farm won more prizes over the years.
A strange incident occurred on October 27, 1961: A panicked cow left her young and escaped the pen. During her escapade she met a car on the street, attacked it, and destroyed a fender. She swam across the Saguenay River and spent the night on the opposite shore. The farmhands tried to bring her back at high tide the next day, but to no avail.
