The farms included cows and pigs, but also ducks, hens, rabbits, and even bees. In 1940, the Congregation acquired three more beehives, donated by Reverend Émilien Boily. At the end of summer, the beekeeper Sisters harvested nearly 500 pounds of honey, which was used to make Sainte-Catherine sugar candy, among other things.
