Fishing cabin on lac Bastien

Funds: Louise Lacoursière
Photo taken around 1946 in front of Anne Stillman’s fishing cabin on lac Bastien. Here she is pictured with her second husband, Fowler McCormick.

Bronze plaque installed on the cliff at Grande-Anse cemetery.
Having always loved Haute-Mauricie, her last words were, “Take me back to Canada”. Of all her fisheries, Grande-Anse was always her favourite. She passed away on May 25, 1969 in Arizona.
You can still gather to pay your respects at “Le rocher Anne McCormick” in Grande-Anse. This cemetery is home to a single urn containing Anne’s ashes, immortalized in a granite cliff. A commemorative plaque covers the urn and reads “Courage, Fortitude, Beauté”.
