Built in 1890, Laurentide House, a chic hotel located in close proximity to the Lac-Édouard train station, was used to accommodate fishing enthusiasts, most of which were Americans. Guests would arrive by way of lavish rail cars equipped with bathrooms, dining rooms and luxurious decorations.
