Portage during a fishing excursion on lac Moïse
La Seigneurie du Triton’s Private Collection
“Club members and guests had access to a portage service, as well as to seasoned guides, most of whom were Aboriginal.
The guides would carry the canoes and heavy baggage on their backs as they made their way towards lac Moïse. Before the fall of 1895, lac Moïse was known only by name by Triton members. On September 6, 1895, two members decided to go explore the lake. After 7 long days, they finally arrived. After installing their campsite, they experienced a miraculous catch.”
