Expedition arrival at Old Factory

The river trip finishes at the mouth of the river where Wemindji people used to live. This area of James Bay is known as Old Factory. The Annual Old Factory Gathering is timed to coincide with the arrival of the paddlers. As the expedition members arrive, tired, tanned and triumphant after many days on the river, they are greeted by friends and family who have gathered to meet them.
