Only our legs and our snowshoes

On the ice of lakes and bays, wind and maybe snowmobiles, compact the snow so that one can walk without snowshoes. This man is pulling a toboggan loaded with gear and food for his trip. His snow shovel is carried over his shoulder to hold the snowshoes securely on his back. His tall moose hide moccasins, probably made by mother, wife or grandmother, have woolen duffels (liners) inside them. With the addition of two or three pairs of socks, his feet will stay warm and comfortable in even the coldest weather.
