L’Intendant Bigot

The opera L’Intendant Bigot was composed by Ulric Voyer. The first performance took place on February 5, 1929. There were five performances given by the artists, two at the Monument-National in Montréal and three at the Québec Auditorium. The opera was a great success at each of its presentations.
Performers included soprano Marie-Rose Descarries as Gemma.

Miss Marie-Rose DESCARRIES will know in Québec the great success she achieved in Montréal in the main role of L’Intendant Bigot. Miss Descarries is the sister of Mr. Aug. Descarries, who distinguished himself by earning the David prize for his performance as a virtuoso pianist in his first concert in Paris, which was praised by the entire Parisian press.
