Many Indigenous youth choose to serve in the Armed Forces during wartime, including three of Louis Joseph Antoine Globe Minaberriet’s sons. During the Second World War, Peter served with the BC Dragoons in England, France, Holland and Germany. James, Joe and Leslie served with the Rocky Mountain Rangers.
Leslie Gaspard was brother-in-law of the three other men, the husband of their sister Mary. The Gaspard name resurfaces in this exhibition, with the family of “Count” Isadore Versepuech.
