This book on the life of Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) began as a lecture delivered before the Harvard Historical Club in 1915. Maude Abbott published Florence Nightingale As Seen in Her Portraits in 1916, to great acclaim. The proceeds from the sale of the book were donated to the Canadian Red Cross Society.
