Swastika Railway Station
Title: Swastika Railway Station, ca. 1910
Collection of Andrew Surry
The Swastika Railway Station was the starting point for many people in the early years of the Kirkland Lake Gold Camp. It was also where mine machinery and tools were unloaded for transfer to the wagons to make the rough 5 kms journey to the mine sites of Kirkland Lake.
The Swastika Station would also be the departure point for newly poured gold bricks, as they were transported to the Canadian Mint in Ottawa.
