The lake the town is named after is seen on the left side of the photograph. The photo was taken from the Teck-Hughes Mine property. The Lake Shore Mine can be seen near the centre of the picture, and the Wright-Hargreaves Mine in the distance on the shore of the lake. Homes can be seen in the cleared land in the distance. Government Road winds its way past the mines.
